In the heart of the jungle, where the emerald leaves sway, A toucan perched high, in the dawn of the day.
With feathers so vivid, a rainbow in flight, He gazed at the forest, a breathtaking sight.
"Listen, O spirits of forest and stream, To the tale I now tell, to my passionate dream.
For the heart of our home, the green canopy wide, Is threatened by forces we cannot abide.
The trees that stand tall, like guardians old, Whisper stories of legends, of treasures untold.
From the ceiba so grand, to the orchids in bloom, Each leaf, each petal, dispels the dark gloom.
Yet men from afar, with greed in their eyes, Lay waste to our forest, beneath smoky skies. They come with their axes, their saws, and their fire, Turning life into ash, fulfilling dark desire.
The jaguar, once proud, now silently weeps, As the forest around him falls into heaps. The howler monkey’s cry, once a symphony grand, Is now a lament for the loss of our land.
But we are the guardians, the children of trees, Our wings and our voices carry the pleas. I, toucan of colors, with beak bright as dawn, Call out to the humans to rethink what they've drawn.
For each tree that's felled, a part of us dies, The breath of our world, the life in our skies. The rivers grow quiet, the wind loses song, In the heart of destruction, we no longer belong.
O people of earth, with power so vast, Remember the future, remember the past. This forest, this life, is not yours to erase, But a gift to protect, a world to embrace.
In the balance of nature, where all life connects, We must find a way to cherish, respect. For the beauty of Costa Rica, the lush, living art, Is a treasure worth saving, a cause to impart.
So let us unite, with courage and grace, To heal the deep wounds, to restore this place. With each tree replanted, with each creature saved, We honor the forest, the home we’ve all craved.
As the sun sets behind us, casting golden light, We vow to the earth, to defend what is right. For I am the toucan, with wings spread so wide, And in this great struggle, I stand by your side.
Together we’ll flourish, both human and beast, In a world where the songs of the wild have ceased. For the spirit of the forest, so ancient and true, Lives on in our hearts, in all that we do." #celestialpainter #indieauthor
